During the school term winter months, members and friends of the Rotary Club of Brisbane Taylor Bridge assist the Sporting Faculty of St Joseph’s College – Gregory Terrace with marshalling and parking directions for staff, parents and spectators ay their “HOME” Rugby and Soccer games at their Sporting Grounds in Vivian Street, Tennyson.
On busy days we have a three-shift roster, utilising 12 volunteers move up to 10,000 people in and out of the precinct throughout the day. Families come early, starting at 7.15am, to see the younger students play in the lower grades then usually leave, while the Senior Games normally close out the day around 4.30pm.
Over the past few years, the support we have from St Joseph’s as well as our members and friends, has seen the club raise more than $30,000 to assist our Rotary Club to fund community projects.
