Two Clubs Combine.

Tonight President Ted Crowe and Inbound YEP Exchange Student, Chloe Bury were able to officially exchange club banners.

The Rotary Clubs of Brisbane Centenary and Sumner Park hosted a District 9630 Rotary Foundation Dinner to celebrate The Foundation Month.

A large percentage of our club attended the dinner.The guest speaker, Dr Melissa Curley, the Dean of the Rotary Peace Centre at UQ spoke with passion about the work that she is able to do with the support of The Rotary Foundation.The 13th class has just graduated and Melissa brought us up to date with what many of the Alumni from Cohort 1 through to 13 are doing in the world.It is very impressive.

At last, the Club Banners have arrived.

After many weeks of waiting, the new Rotary Club of Brisbane Taylor Bridge banners have arrived from the manufacturer in the USA.This first run was done on their stock default banner with our club name, district and country inserted.The next run will be custom designed and include our logo.​​​​​​​

Tonight’s Vocational Visit to the Corinda Compounding Chemist.

Members attended the Corinda Compounding Chemist for a vocational visit on Tuesday 30th September.

Club member and compounding pharmacist Elisa spoke about the reasons why compounding is becoming increasingly popular.

Elisa introduced members to the lab, the protective clothing worn and the equipment that is used to make different products.

She then demonstrated how to make a batch of Zinc Picolinate capsules.

Members witnessed the making of these batch capsules from start to finish with some members volunteering to assist Elisa in the process. 

A lively Q&A at the end of our visit was extremely beneficial and informative.

Many thanks to Elisa for hosting this visit, to her employer for making the facility available and to her colleagues for allowing the intrusion.

Dinner at the Thai Malila.

Last night the club held its monthly Dining Out Night at the Thai Malila in Cook Street, Oxley.
Great food and even better company ensured that it was a great night.
The highlight of the evening was a presentation by President Ted Crowe to Rhonda Ganko, our member who drives our involvement at “Sailability”. 
Rhonda was rewarded for her efforts, not only at Sailabilty, but for the tireless hours she devotes to the club and our projects.

Congratulations Rhonda.

The annual September YEP Training Camp is on in Toowoomba.

After prolonged discussions over several months, a decision was finally taken to order some club Banners.
Thanks to Steven Bennett’s brother for the tip on the supplier.Russell Hampton and Co are a well known and reputable company working out of the USA.
