Somewhere in this group of Inbound Exchange Students on their “Reef and Rock Safari Tour” is our own Chloe Bury.

“Days For Girls” is an international organisation and for more information please check out their webpage at www.daysforgirls.org or contact our Rotary Club through the Contacts tab on this Homepage.

CONTACT!

Earlier this evening Stephen made contact with his family. He seems to be safe and well and with his group is starting his trek home.
Can’t wait to see him.

Our Thoughts are with you!

Please keep our Immediate Past President Stephen Ganko and his family in your thoughts as we await further news onhis fate and that of his companions in Nepal.
Following the devastating earthquake in Nepal yesterday, during all of the confusion, one of his party was able to make contact with his wife in Graceville to let her know that everyone in their party was alright.
At the time of the earthquake they were at Everest Base Camp.Although they had no exit strategy at the time, information flowing from DEFAT is saying that all airports are now open and they will be running international flights around the clock.
Unconfirmed news reports have stated that they have helicopters getting the injured out so perhaps they will be evacuated soon.
I will post more as I receive information.
