Message from the President
The Privilege of Presidency
This year's theme is ‘The Magic of Rotary’ - what a privilege to continue the magic that comes from the work of Rotarians over the past 119 years, worldwide.
Our humble club has been responsible for magic here and overseas, sponsoring education of girls in Tanzania and sending books and medical equipment to PNG.
Locally we sprinkle magic by serving meals through Community Table, breakfast to immigrant children at Milpera School; planting community gardens, and purchasing and distributing gifts for foster children at Christmas. Our fundraising, through Bunnings BBQs and service to Schools in the form of car marshalling, means magically providing a new hot water system for the Girl Guides and safe play areas for children affected by Domestic and Family Violence, amongst others.
None of this is possible without the tireless work of a handful of dedicated members and friends of Rotary who I am very honoured to serve this year 24/25.
I love hands-on projects that can be appreciated by our local communities. The Youth Programs are another favourite as they provide lasting magic in the form of leadership, resilience and the importance of looking after one another. Youth Exchange build relationships across borders, culture and language, making magical bonds for life.
I hope to add a little magic of my own by collaborating more with other clubs so that we thrive through building friendships being beneficial to all concerned.
